Welcome to KadamLo, where we envision a world where dreams have no limits, and the potential of every woman thrives. In the depths of Aya Nagar, we confront the sobering truth of unrealized potential due to societal constraints and limited access to education.

Our mission at Kadam Lo is rooted in breaking the chains of dependence and empowering women to rise above the cycles of domestic abuse. We firmly believe that every woman deserves the opportunity to discover her talents, follow her passions, and lead a life of independence and dignity. To achieve this, we provide a comprehensive approach, encompassing skill training, legal aid, and counseling services. Through these initiatives, we aim to help women overcome the barriers that hold them back, fostering financial independence and paving the way for a brighter future, free from the shackles of domestic violence.

WAYS WE HELP

CURRENT PROGRAMMES:

English Language Classes: Offer structured and tailored English language classes that cater to different proficiency levels. Focus on basic grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversational skills.
Legal Aid workshops: We conduct regular awareness workshops on the law and how to use it as a tool to fight gender inequality. We also conduct sessions with trial court lawyers to help familiarise women with the process of approaching courts and the remedies available to them. Additionally, we actively file cases on behalf of women, reinforcing our commitment to addressing gender inequality and corporal punishment through both awareness and legal advocacy.
Counseling sessions: We work with a team of counselors doing pro bono work to help women seek support.
Communication Workshops: Conduct workshops to enhance participants' communication skills, including public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal communication. Encourage practice and feedback to build confidence.
Financial Literacy Workshops: We equip women with essential financial skills to manage their finances confidently. From budgeting and savings to understanding investments, we demystify financial concepts and empower them to make informed decisions for a brighter future.
Tailoring Training: We aim to provide sewing and embroidery training that not only hones skills but also opens doors to economic independence.

LEGAL AID

In collaboration with legal experts, we aim to equip women with essential legal knowledge, enabling them to assert their rights and navigate complex legal landscapes. These sessions will empower our participants to stand up against injustices, fostering a sense of agency and confidence.

FROM IDEA TO REALITY: THE EVOLUTION OF KADAM LO

In the heart of the vibrant community of Aya Nagar, a transformative story unfolds - the story of KadamLo.

Founded with a vision to address the pressing issue of domestic violence and limited opportunities faced by women, KadamLo emerged as a beacon of hope. We recognized the urgent need to empower women with legal aid, counseling, and vocational skills to break free from the cycle of abuse and dependency.

Guided by dedicated student volunteers, we embarked on a journey of educating women during the summer break, reigniting their fervor for learning. Witnessing the growth of our classes, it became evident that a dedicated space was needed.

After securing a community center, KadamLo was officially launched. The voyage commenced with foundational English literacy and legal awareness sessions sparking an overwhelming response.

Our narrative persists as we prepare to introduce various vocational trainings and greater support through providing counseling for women in the community.

LEGAL AWARENESS FOR STUDENTS

We extend our legal outreach by conducting awareness sessions for students and their parents, shedding light on the rights and repercussions surrounding corporal punishment in schools. Empowering families with this knowledge is crucial in fostering a safe and supportive educational environment.
